solo ids farm
well folks thats it, its impossible to solo ids any longer, seriously. the aggro with the boss in mineral springs right before caves, 2 strays will follow u, alternating, typically a guile [necromancer who strips enchants] and a wise [mesmer who uses ineptidue, warrior killer], and there is no way to lose them, they follow u up to the imps, ineptitude owning the wars, strip enchants owning the 55hps. so lets see u guys come up with a build now?

i never ever liked the w/mo solo farm build, i always used the w/me build. since the nightfall update i actually managed to solo it once, but it is near impossible. and i would like to know why it seems to be the guiles that follow you for so long...

Yep, just got done smashing my keyboard. I haven't tried going the other route, though. It will probably end up being the same way with the boss right after the bridge. Endless aggro FTL. It happens in runs to Droks, too. One Ice Golem will end up following you the entire way through Lornar's, but it is still possible to complete the run. Yeah ANet, we see your silly little tricks.

Anet thinks that if they make all the PvEers leave then they can just forget about balancing that side of the game. That's the only motive I can match to their crazy behavior lately.

They want the game to be more team-oriented, but then they went and threw in heroes.
But then again, hench flag is win.

lol I can't believe people still haven't realised that there are hench/hero controls. Do the run with a train of heros and hench, give ur heros running builds and do their skills for them whilst running. All you need is one left alive when you run past the last mob of avicara and flag him to stop so that you break aggro whilst they attack him. He dies, you're free from aggro. Simple. There's plenty of space inbetween the mob and the cave entrance to stop and recover before going in.

Sometimes all the mobs at the cave bunch up infront or just inside and you can't do shit. What the RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO is wrong with Anet is this area meant to be impossible or do you need a dedicated full team to just get past some of these idiotic spawns?
I can easily run to the cave solo without dying. With bad spawns like avicare that won't stop following you into giants I just work it off as DP and proceed. Now the RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing tricky part is the bloody avicare standing so close to imps so if u run past them to the imps they just follow you up. What does Anet have against me getting my IDS? Tell me cause I'm RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing pissed here about this random bullshit.

well one thing i believe is that:
1 you guys arent very good runners/mob avoiders
2 you guys suck at pulling
3 i did this run last nite with my ranger (once), warr(once), monk(once).
and didnt get an ids so i gave up and it takes way too long got boring made some other money bought it later on... its still possible just learn to run well and uh pull correctly! also i did this without heros/hench (they just get in the way) but yea ids solo run is still possible just do it patiently and be smart about it... i went both ways once i got to mineral springs bottom or top way no problems just run intelligently

ANet hates PvE players thats why they've been so crazy with changing skills and litterally almost plunged us into a depression.

The IDS farming run has been rigged for a while.
Earlier today, I wanted to finally see if I could get one.
Here is a brief summary of what happened, in a total of 8 runs.
1. Unrunnable spawn at end of Tasca's Demise. Died. Rubberband death by Avicara at the beggining of Mineral Springs. 30% DP. Resigned.
2. Unrunnable spawn at end of Tasca's Demise. Died. Killed Giants in Mineral Springs to remove DP. Avicara spawned in Imps. Resigned.
3. Made it through Tasca's Demise without incident. Unnavoidable Avicara-Giant aggro. Died. Killed Giants to remove DP. Encountered Elementalist Boss with Iron Mist. Failed to get Defy Pain up fast enough. Died. Made it passed Elementalist boss. Avicara spawned in Imps. Resigned.
4. Unrunnable spawn at end of Tasca's Demise. Died. Killed Giants in Mineral Springs to remove DP. Cleared Ice Imp Cave. No IDS drops. Resigned.
5. Managed to make it out of Tasca's Demise without incident. See end of 2,3. Resigned.
(At this point getting more then a little mad)
6. Unrunnable spawn at end of Tasca's Demise. Another Avicara rubberband death. Resigned.
7. PERFECT RUN. Great Ice Imp spawn, no Trolls or Golems. Yet... NO IDS!!
8. Made it through Tasca's Demise without incident. Made it to Ice Imp cave...only to encounter a spawn of no less then 20 Imps and 3 Golems. Couldn't get adrenaline fast enough, died. Resigned for the last time. Bought my IDS from some Joe in Granite.
LESSON: IDS RUNNING IS ****ed UP! I was constantly frusterated by those Avicara that would never lose aggro! My build was decent, Mending, Live Vicariouly, Defy Pain (the guy I bought it from said he used the same one) and in the good spawns I had no problem clearing the cave.
Dont do this Solo!!! It just wont work!!!
And I dont see how monks solo it either. How can they even get to the cave?
ANet needs to fix this problem. IDS should be worth 100k for all the hell you must go through to get one.

If making the game a little bit harder is making PvEers leave then I'd say it's for the best. You can still, very easily, farm the ids with flagged heroes. But even if you couldn't, what's so "crazy" about making a team to farm the sword in a multi-player game? Nuff' said.
